Bulgaria does not want to interrupt relations with “fraternal Russia” and lose its economic position with Moscow, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said during an address in Sofia, Friday. The Bulgarian leader railed against the effect of sanctions and counter sanctions between the EU and Russia, which he said were causing huge losses to the nation’s tourism industry. He went on to say the situation in Bulgaria is “even worse than during the Cold War,” emphasising the rules are no longer clear in terms of economic allegiances. The Prime Minister added that by sending the Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky to Moscow, he hoped to show that Bulgaria is willing to participate in “all economic forums.” Prior to EU sanctions implemented in 2014, some 2.6 percent of all Bulgarian exports went to Russia in 2013 while agricultural and food product exports to Russia comprise 9.3 percent of total Bulgarian exports, according to the Bulgarian Ministry Economy,
