Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi met in Rome on Monday where they discussed a number of international issues, including the EU migration crisis. The meeting comes as Italy and France are currently involved in a tug of war, which has left hundreds of migrants stranded at the Italian-French border. The migrants do not wish to stay in Italy but France refuses to open its borders, citing EU regulations as a reason. EU interior ministers will meet in Luxembourg on Tuesday where they will discuss a proposal for the transfer of 16,000 refugees from Greece and 24,000 from Italy to other EU countries.
