Germany: 'I expected better results' from EU migration summit - SPD's Nahles

Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) head Andrea Nahles criticised the mini-EU migration summit that took place in Brussels, over the blocs migration policy, for its weak results, speaking at the press briefing in Berlin, Monday.
"I can only call on the European states to rather not think in national categories only - because solo actions return to yourself eventually. This also applies to Germany of course," said Nahles.
The press conference came as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, along with other EU leaders, rushed to Brussels for an emergency summit to review its migration policy, after Italy threatened to close its ports to NGO ships carrying migrants.
Merkel has been backed into a corner by her Bavarian-based CSU coalition counterpart and Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, who demands sending asylum seekers back to the EU member state they initially registered in.
