Syrian: Russian Air Force intensify campaign with 127 sorties

The Russian Air Forces continued their strikes against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), targets in Syria, Wednesday. During the first day of the doubled airstrikes operation, 127 sorties were made from the Hmeymim airbase in Latakia, targeting 206 terrorist positions. According to the Russian military, the Air Forces also began striking a so-called 'pipeline on wheels' in order to reduce the revenues of terrorists selling oil. The operation is still underway. For the second day of the operation, 100 sorties are planned. On Tuesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the Air Force has deployed its fleet of bombers to double the volume of airstrikes on Islamist targets in Syria.
