Footage released by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Iranian State TV on Thursday, allegedly shows a foreign marine vessel smuggling fuel being seized by IRGC’s forces in the south of Iran's Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz.
The footage broadcasted on Iranian state TV shows boats circling the vessel before its interception. On deck footage shows the fuel reportedly smuggled by the marine vessel.
The vessel’s registration number reportedly matches that of MT Riah, a UAE-based ship which went missing on Sunday.
According to Iranian State TV, the vessel was carrying one million litres of smuggled fuel and had 12 crew members.
