6-Digit Passcodes Are Coming to the iPhone and iPad

In an effort to make iOS devices harder to break into, Apple owners who use a passcode will soon be required to have a six-digit passcode instead of a four-digit one.
At the company's Worldwide Developers Conference this week, one of the big pillars for Apple was improving security on its devices. It will apply to iPhones 4S and newer iPhones, as well as the iPad 2 and newer iPads, which run the latest mobile software.
If you have a device with the TouchID fingerprint sensor, you likely won't notice the difference.
