Purported members of the pro-Kurdish Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP-C) shot an alleged undercover police officer in the leg after apprehending and beating him following clashes in Istanbul’s Gazi neighbourhood, Tuesday.
The DHKP-C, a Kurdish local militia group had clashed with police earlier in the day after they attempted to join protests decrying Turkey’s military build-up near the Syrian border and the government’s bombing of Kurds fighting in northern Syria.
On finding an alleged undercover police officer in their midst, the Kurdish militants attacked the man, with one protest shooting him in the leg. The group reportedly burned his car down later, allegedly punishing the man for his involvement in the crimes against the people of Gazi and Kurds around the world.
