Government Still Planning How to Inform Victims of Mass Data Breach

Two months after discovering the sensitive personal information on 21.5 million Americans was compromised in a hack of government data centers, the victims have not been informed.
Government officials briefed the press on Tuesday detailing their plans for informing the vast number of Americans affected.
The officials from multiple agencies, familiar with an investigation into the breach, said the Office of Personnel Management is working with other agencies to set up a system to inform the victims.
One official at OPM stated that it would be weeks before a mechanism was in place to handle the complex problem
The official added the government was trying to establish a centralized system rather than leave the notification to separate agencies.
