USA: Sanders talks immigration reform in the City of Sin

United States Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke at a presidential candidate forum organised by the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM), in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday. In reference to immigration reform, Sanders stated “when we give legal rights to undocumented workers, what we are doing is standing up for every worker in America.” The presidential candidate continued, declaring “the goal is to bring families together, not to separate them." As well as immigration, Sanders spoke of a key concern of his campaign the decline of America’s middle class, saying “on the same day that we talk about comprehensive immigration reform we will also talk a massive federal jobs programme to put our people back to work, at decent wages.” The self-proclaimed ‘socialist’ candidate for the Democratic Party's nomination for president in the 2016 US presidential election race has in recent weeks boasted impressive polling and fund-raising numbers.
