Weather Whiplash: Texas Goes From Extreme Drought to Floods in 3 Weeks

Talk about weather whiplash.
Just three weeks ago, large parts of Texas and Oklahoma were still locked in the grips of an unrelenting, multi-year drought, with parts of Texas classified as being in "exceptional drought" conditions — the worst possible category. Now, thanks to historic rainfall that shows no sign of letting up anytime soon, these areas, along with parts of Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska and other states, are coping with dangerous flooding.
Many locations have already eclipsed their record rainfall total for any calendar month, never mind just setting a record for the wettest May.
