Sudan's opposition coalition and the ruling military council signed a final power-sharing deal paving the way for the transition to civilian led-government, in Khartoum, on Saturday.
Under the power-sharing agreement a transitional government consisting of a joint military and civilian sovereign council would rule until elections are held in 2022.
Footage shows the deal being signed by Sudan's opposition alliance coalition's leader Ahmed al-Rabie, and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, deputy chief of the Transitional Military Council (TMC).
Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed were present at the ceremony as well as representatives from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
The military council took control of Sudan after ousting the long-time leader Omar Al-Bashir in a coup on April 11 this year. On the same day protesters flooded the area outside the Defence Ministry demanding transition to civilian rule, leading to a months-long stand-off and outbreaks of violence.
