Reelz Steers Clear of Trump's Remarks After Rescuing Miss USA Pageant

The Miss USA pageant has been rescued by the Reelz channel after NBC and Univison dropped the show over co-owner Donald Trump's comments on Mexican immigrants. Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard said in a statement Thursday that the cable and satellite channel acquired the rights. He added that the pageant and the women who compete in it "are an integral part of American tradition." He added that as one of the few independent networks, the channel wanted to bring the pageant to American viewers. Reelz made no mention of Trump or the hot water he's found himself in since he announced his presidential bid in June.
