Charlotte Church sang a 'Requiem for Arctic Ice' in protest at Shell’s drilling in the Arctic, in London on Wednesday. The Welsh singer-songerwriter, actress and television presenter led a Greenpeace musical protest near the headquarters of the Anglo-Dutch giant, against its drilling for oil off the shore of Alaska. Joined by a Greenpeace orchestra, Charlotte Church sang a protest song for the Arctic, as part of a month-long protest campaign organised by Greenpeace in the UK capital. Due to the inclement weather in London, Church performed the 'Requiem for Arctic Ice' campaign song with a string quartet under a bridge near to Shell's HQ. The song was reportedly inspired by the Titanic's string quartet, who continued playing while the behemoth ship sank.
