The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (EESC) session kicked off in Burabay following an extended-format meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council, Thursday. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Armenian and Belarusian counterparts posed for the press ahead of EESC talks. Cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Common Economic Space, migration, criminality, border security, military collaboration and the fight against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) are the main topics on the meeting's agenda. Earlier on Friday, CIS leaders signed 16 documents including agreements on military cooperation and joint efforts to combat international "terrorism."
