Migrants were seen warming themselves making fires in the neutral zone between Turkey and Greece, with security forces watching them at the Kastanies border crossing in Greece, Saturday.
Earlier police used tear gas to stop hundreds of refugees from storming the neutral zone of the border passage. The escalation comes after Turkey announced it will no longer stop refugees from crossing into the EU after dozens of Turkish soldiers were killed in an airstrike in Syria's Idlib province.
A number of refugees managed to cross into Greece despite security forces blocking the main road between Kastanies on the Greek side and Edirne on the Turkish side of the border.
