Vladimir Markin, official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee, spoke following an armed attack at the Krasnogorsk office of local administration that resulted in a double killing in Moscow, Monday. Markin noted that suspect Amiran Giorgadze tried to shoot Deputy Head of Krasnogorsk Yuri Karaulov and local businessman Georgiy Kotlyarenko with an automatic rifle or Saiga rifle brought reportedly to the office by his driver. "Only after the rifle jammed Giorgadze used a fall-back and allegedly killed his victims with 9 mm calibre gun making no less than ten shots, both died on the spot," Markin said. Moreover, Giorgadze had "business" and "friendly relations" Karaulov and Kotlyarenko who were both shot dead. Giorgadze was one of the co-owners of Krasnogorsk Electric Company headed by Kotlyarenko, Markin added. The attack occurred at around 2pm local time (11am GMT) on Monday. Several people were reportedly injured. The suspect reportedly fled the murder site in a Range Rover vehicle.
