While several Minsk contact group representatives touted progress at Tuesday’s meeting in the Belarusian capital, Chairman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR/DNR) Denis Pushilin stated that he "expected more and the steps taken are insufficient to regulate the conflict and to proceed with the truce" in eastern Ukraine. With conflict regulation and humanitarian assistance dominating the agenda, representative of the OSCE Heidi Tagliavini stated that progress had been made in comparison to the previous meetings, however Pushilin called out Ukraine for their perceived inability to make alternative suggestions. Tagliarini, who is to step down from her role in the Trilateral Contact Group, will be replaced by an Austrian diplomat whose name has not yet been revealed. The second meeting of subgroups will reportedly take place next Tuesday.
