A rather baa-rmy adaptation of King Lear opened its doors at the Courtyard Theatre in London's Hoxton district on Thursday, with one brave actor and nine sheep taking to the stage to perform the Shakespearean play. Overcoming theatrical conventions, the new adaptation, directed by writer Missouri Williams, stars 24-year-old Alasdair Saksena, who plays the role of King Lear and nine costumed sheep. Speaking after the performance, Saksena said, 'working with sheep is great, they're sort of better than their human counterparts I think, they do what they're told, as long as you've got food in your hands and they'll just sort of be great, they've got very distinct personalities.' The Shakespearean classic will be on at the Courtyard Theatre from August 12-16.
