Thousands of PEGIDA supporters took the streets of Dresden, Monday, to protest against the German government's policy on refugees and asylum seekers and the influx of refugees arriving in the country. Protesters waved German and US Confederate flags and held banners condemning German Chancellor Angela Merkel. PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann gave an address during the rally. The PEGIDA rally was met by a pro-refugee counter-protest. The counter-protesters held banners in support of refugees such as "refugees welcome" and at one point an Antifa symbol was projected onto a building as the PEGIDA supporters marched passed. Police were on hand to keep both groups separated and no incidents were reported.
