Greece: No to Europe's "capitalist authority" - KKE's Koutsoumpas in Athens

26.06.2015
Hundreds of anti-EU and anti-austerity protesters joined a rally organised by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Athens' Syntagma Square, Friday. Dimitris Koutsoumpas, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece, condemned Europe's "one-track and capitalist authority," while appealing for an end to the "continuous insolvency of the Greek people." Eurozone finance ministers are due to meet again on Saturday, June 27 after talks over the week between Greece and the European Commission (EC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Central Bank (ECB) ended without an agreement. June 30 has been set as the deadline for Greece's €1.62 billion ($1.76 billion) debt repayment to the IMF. If the country fails to meet the deadline, it could face default and exit from the eurozone.
