The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Maria Zakharova attacked the western media on Wednesday for what she called its “aggressive campaign,” during a press conference held in Moscow. Zakharova stated that it's impossible to rely "on the objectivity of the Western media" when informing about the actions of the Russian Federation in Syria. She went on saying that what Russia has been facing since “Russian support to the Syrian state in its fight against terrorism began” has "overcome not only the expectations but the so-called Ukrainian experience" regarding media companies or informational aggression. The spokesperson thinks that information provided by Western media regarding Russian intervention in Syria "is wrongful, is illegal, is untruthful” and added that "Russia has to refute this information, fact after fact step by step." Since launching its first airstrikes in Syria on September 30 after an official request for aid made by the Syrian government, Russia has flown dozens of combat missions and conducted more than 100 airstrikes, according to the Russian Defence Ministry. Russia’s aid to Syria has been widely criticised by many Western media companies, in an attempt to demonize Moscow’s moves in regard to supplying and aiding Damascus.
