SOUTH AFRICAN RAIL OFFICIAL; 239 INJURED IN TRAIN CRASH

A spokeswoman for the South African rail service revised down the number of people injured in a rush hour collision from the 300 originally reported.
Metrorail spokeswoman for the Gauteng province Lillian Mofokeng, said Saturday that only eight people were still hospitalized. The exact cause of the accident is still unknown and an investigation is underway.
The accident happened at rush hour on Friday between two stations, with both trains traveling from the Johannesburg city center to the township of Soweto.
