The leaders of the G7 nations - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US – posed for a group photo at the Shima Kanko Hotel in Kashiko Island, as the 42nd G7 summit kicked off in Japan on Thursday. The heads of state were joined by EU Commission President Jean Claude Juncker and EU Council President Donald Tusk.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe , US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Juncker and Tusk smiled for cameras outside the Shima Kanko Hotel in Ise-Shima as the summit got underway on the Japanese Island.
Growing uncertainty in the global economy is expected to top the agenda at the 'Group of Seven' summit. As well as this, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced prior to the summit that he hopes to discuss the situation in the Asia-Pacific region with the other G7 members.
