Eleven works created by the graffiti artist and political activist Bansky were auctioned in Beverly Hills, some of them for a record price, during Wednesday's event at Julien's Auctions. A number of 47 works of various artists - including 2wenty, Shepard Fairey and Rene Gagnon - with an estimated worth of $2.1 million (€1.88 million) were auctioned in a single day. Banksy's "Donkey Documents" was sold for a record price of $190,000 (€170,000). The British-born artist, whose identity remains a mystery, recently opened a thematic park called 'Dismaland.' The "Bemusement Park" in Weston-super-Mare is filled with politically-poignant pieces, including a huge sculpture depicting a city in riot, gangster puppet shows, an atomic cloud sculpture and a David Cameron piece.
