Virginia prosecutors Thursday said they have dropped all charges against university student Martese Johnson related to his March arrest.
A court hearing to formally drop the charges is scheduled for Friday.
The 20-year-old Johnson arrested in outside a pub less than a quarter mile from the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, by agents with Virginia’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
During the arrest, state liquor control agents grappled with and aggressively brought Johnson to the ground, injuring the young man's face which became profusely covered with blood.
He faced misdemeanor charges for public intoxication and obstruction of justice.
