The official shop of the Russian Army in Moscow began selling T-shirts printed with images of the Russian air strikes in Syria, on Tuesday. Other T-shirts featured images of Russian Air Force fighter jets as well as maps of Syria. If customers wish to express their solidarity with the leader of Syria, they can also purchase garments with the printed phrase "Support Assad" for 1,399 roubles [€19.5/$22.2]. However if they simply wish to get behind the Russian pilots, they can buy t-shirts depicting the moment of impact of Russian air strikes. The first batch of items sold out within hours of being put on display, according to local media. This is not the first time that contemporary politics have informed clothing designs in Russia. The reunification of Russia and Crimea, the Ukraine conflict and the subsequent sanctions also saw the production of patriotically themed t-shirts.
