European ministers arrived in Brussels, Tuesday, to attend a roundtable discussion on the Mediterranean migrant crisis. The meeting comes after more than 500 migrants have been left stranded in Ventimiglia on the Italian-French border, leaving Italy and France locked in a tug of war. France refuses to accept the refugees, citing EU regulations. In response, the migrants, who do not want to stay in Italy, have organised sit-ins and hunger strikes. The ministers are expected to discuss EU joint actions to provide assistance to member states in regard to the migrant crisis. During the roundtable they are also set to review a proposal for the transfer of 16,000 refugees from Greece and 24,000 from Italy to other EU countries.
