Austria: Two detained as counter-protest meets anti-refugee demo in Graz

Two people were detained by police as dozens of anti-refugee protesters demonstrating against the Austrian government and the European Union accepting refugees, were met by hundreds of counter protesters at Mariahilferplatz in the Austrian city of Graz, Saturday. Protesters waved Austrian flags and listened to speeches calling Austrian government help to refugees a "waste of money," as counter protesters, organised by various anti-fascist groups carried banners calling for love not hate and chanted slogans such as "refugees are welcome here." Police kept the two groups separated, keeping left wing protesters from entering the square and detaining two individuals for violence during the protests.
