Thousands of people including Iranians, Kurds and Afghans gathered in Stockholm on Wednesday celebrating the Festival of Fire, an ancient tradition held on the eve of the Persian New Year - Nowruz.
Footage shows festivalgoers jumping over small bonfires on a path at the festival.
"It's a very symbolic thing where you leave the bad from the past year that has gone and you enter the New Year," explains Nariman, a festivalgoer.
The Festival of Fire or Chaharshanbe Suri, which dates back 4,000 years, takes place each year on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz. The tradition originated in pre-Islamic religion Zoroastrianism.
