France has agreed to sell two Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Egypt, which were initially built for Russia, announced the office of the French president in Paris, Wednesday. Footage shows the 'Sevastopol' Mistral warship which was moved to the French port of Saint-Nazaire on November 21, 2014. French President Francois Hollande is reportedly still negotiating the price of the deal with a high-profile Egyptian delegation. In 2011 Russia ordered from France the construction of two helicopter carriers of the 'Mistral' class, costing €1.12 billion ($1.6 billion). The ships were meant to be delivered in 2014, but the consignment was delayed as a result of the EU imposed sanctions against Russia. The lack of deal resulted in Paris refunding Moscow €950 million ($1 billion).
