France: Klimkin arrives in Paris for 'Normandy Format' meeting on Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin arrived at the French Foreign Ministry in Paris, Tuesday evening, for the latest round of 'Normandy Format' peace talks, where he will sit down with his German, French and Russian counterparts to discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements. On February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel signed the latest Minsk agreement. The 13-point agreement stipulated a ceasefire from February 15, a buffer zone and the pullback of heavy weaponry by both sides from the line of contact. This latest meeting is taking place just one day after the European Union extended economic sanctions against Russian until June 23, 2016. In Minsk, representatives from Russia, Ukraine and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) are also gathering for a meeting of the so-called Trilateral Contact Group.
