Hundreds of people gathered along the Tonbori River in Osaka, Saturday, to watch as giant pieces of foam sushi floated downstream. Spectators took photos of the novelty aquatic cuisine, with some even pulling out chopsticks in an attempt to catch a bite. The giant sushi train is part of the 'Rolling Sushi' art project and is one of a series of avant-garde art events organised by the Osaka Canvas Project intended to boost the global image of the city, birthplace of the sushi conveyor belt and a centre for sushi culture in Japan.
