24 13.09.2015 Инфо

Turkish and Kurdish activists faced off at Zentrum Kreuzberg in Kottbusser Tor, Berlin, leading to clashes and arrests on Sunday. Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) members and their supporters had set up stalls in the area to inform people about their political goals, when Turkish nationalists arrived at the square waving Turkish flags. They also chanted slogans against Kurdish self-determination to show their support for the Turkish government and the military operation being carried out against Kurdish fighters near the border with Syria. The Kurdish activists responded by gathering together and chanting back. A large number of police officers wearing riot gear were deployed in the area to prevent physical confrontation. Several protesters from both sides were arrested at the site following violence. On Saturday, Berlin and other cities in Germany witnessed scuffles between Turkish and Kurdish people.
