Russia’s Permanent Representative to NATO Alexander Grushko condemned NATO’s recent move to increase its presence in the Baltic States and Poland, while speaking at a press conference following the NATO-Russia Council Summit in Brussels, Wednesday.
"Today’s confrontational policy built on the so called mythic threat coming from Russia develops into military planning and military preparations on our borders," stated Grushko, adding that eastern Europe was safer before NATO’s military buildup.
Grushko also announced that Russia is ready to turn on transmitters in airplanes to increase air safety over the Baltic Sea following various encounters of Russian fighters with NATO vessels in the region.
He concluded his statement assuring those in attendance that "there is no need for NATO’s increased military activity in this zone."
