UN: Ban Ki-moon congratulates Trump after win in US elections

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated US President-elect Donald Trump on winning the US elections during a statement from the body’s New York headquarters, Wednesday, calling on the new administration to "strengthen the bonds of international cooperation."
Ban said after an "often divisive campaign", it was worth "reaffirming that unity in diversity of the United States is one of the country’s greatest strengths." He said, "now more than ever, we must mobilise around the principles and common values of the United Nations Charter."
Trump declared victory in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton called him to concede defeat following a bitterly fought election battle.
