29.05.2016
Pro-Catalan independence activists marched through central Barcelona, Sunday, to protest against the suspension of several Catalan laws by the Constitutional Court of Spain.
Protesters marched waving Estelada flags and holding banners while chanting slogans such as "independence!" and "we want a Catalan republic."
They reject the Constitutional Court's suspension of several Catalan laws related to the pro-secessionist process and social issues, including laws dealing with poverty and inequality.
Around 60 organisations, unions and political parties called for the demonstration, with organisers saying some 60,000 people attended the march. Police say the figure was roughly 8,000.
