The investigation on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which went down over eastern Ukraine, is a "difficult and emotional issue," First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitri Polyansky said during a World Cup reception in New York City, Monday.
Polyansky claimed that Russia provided a lot of material and data, which "would help to identity those who were behind this, but unfortunately, they were not taken into consideration."
"We are ready to participate in thorough, unbiased and full investigation on this issue," Polyansky added. Russia is "doubtful and saddened" that "a lot of information is not requested from Ukraine. We think that the investigation should also embrace all these issues."
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when it was downed in the skies over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board were killed.
