Confederate Flag Removed From South Carolina Statehouse...

The Confederate flag, a symbol of both racism and southern pride, is removed on Friday from the South Carolina statehousel grounds. The rebel flag, first raised on the grounds more than 50 years ago, has fallen from favour since nine black churchgoers were murdered, allegedly by 21-year-old white supremacist Dylann Roof, in Charleston in June. The flag is to be moved to the 'relic room' of a nearby museum in the state capital, Columbia.
