Treatment for those injured in the clashes last week in South Sudan, is underway at the Level 2 UN Hospital in Juba on Wednesday. Footage shows an injured child being treated after a mortar reportedly struck the area, injuring three children.
Colonel Nong Yamako, Head of Cambodian Level 2 Hospital, stated that "after we provide properly medical care and treatment and surgical operation, the patient from day to day after their recovery they can go back to their camp," adding that "I am really, really happy to save their lives in South Sudan."
South Sudan gained independence on the 9th July 2011, following a referendum, but conflict resurged in the newly-formed country in December 2013, when President of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit accused Vice President Riek Machar of attempting a coup.
