Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that Moscow is "ready" to share its experience of testing combat equipment with Vietnam, during his visit to Hanoi on Tuesday.
Speaking alongside his Vietnamese counterpart Ngo Xuan Lich, Shoigu noted that among the discussed military equipment are Pantsir surface-to-air missiles as well as S-300s and S400 surface-to-air missile systems.
According to Shoigu, two S-400 systems are already deployed in Syria, "carrying round-the-clock combat duty in the country and providing reliable anti-aircraft defence of our bases in Khmeimim and Tartus." He noted that Turkey along with other states in the Middle East and Southeast Asia have expressed interest in acquiring Russia's missile systems.
Shoigu added that Russia views Vietnam as a "strategic ally" and "one of the most important partners in ensuring security in the Asia-Pacific region".
