Bavarian Matthias Volkl set a new world record in beer mug carrying, Monday, by lugging an astonishing 27 one-litre beer glasses for 40 meters (131 feet) in Munich's Hofbrauhaus.
The initial record attempt was 29 mugs; however, two glasses fell to the floor at the end of the run.
The total weight of the glasses came to around 70 kilos (154 pounds). The 26-year old said that he is "absolutely very proud" to have broken the record, and that in the future he hopes to attempt carrying up to 30 mugs of beer.
The previous record, 24 one-litre beer glasses, was set by Oliver Strumpfel in 2014.
