A panel of judges of the Podolsky district court of Kiev on Friday ruled to extend the detention term of RIA Novosti Ukraine Editor-in-Chief Kirill Vyshinsky until September 19.
The journalist was detained in Kiev on May 15, 2018. He is being held on suspicion of treason, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
Vyshinsky denies all the charges, and has accused the prosecution of "political games" in order to keep him behind bars.
