Thousands of people marched through the streets of Ahvaz, Monday, as they took part in the funeral ceremony for victims of the attack on a military parade that killed at least 25 and injured 60 on Saturday.
The coffins were draped in the flags of Iran and carried by the mourners.
Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Brigadier General Hossein Salami addressed the crowds saying: "The Americans also should know, we warn them as well, you have only learned how to be defeated. In our ideology, the Americans and Zionists have only learned how to be defeated."
The speech echoes earlier claims of the country's President Hassan Rouhani, who accused the United States of supporting armed anti-government groups in Iran.
On Saturday, gunmen opened fire from behind the stands of a military parade in Ahvaz commemorating the 38th anniversary of the onset of the eight-year Iran-Iraq war.
Eight members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard were among those killed, according to reports. Both the separatist Al-Ahvaziya armed group and the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
