Belgium: Scotland's Sturgeon meets EP's Martin Schulz to talk Brexit fallout

President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz met with First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon in Brussels on Wednesday, as the European Council emergency meeting on the 'Brexit' issue is taking in the Belgian capital.
Relations between Scotland and the EU, the 'Brexit' result, as well as the possibility of a second referendum on Scotland’s place in the UK were expected to top the agenda of the meeting.
Ahead of the Brussels visit, Sturgeon said that she would consider asking members of the Scottish Parliament to vote down legislation needed for the UK to leave the EU, saying “everything must be on the table to protect Scotland’s place in Europe”.
Sturgeon's visit came after Scotland strongly backed the UK to stay in the EU during last Thursday’s referendum.
