Barcelona legend Lionel Messi was presented with his sixth European Golden Boot award at a glamorous ceremony in Barcelona's Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old Argentinian international was handed the trophy by his sons Thiago and Mateo, before being joined by his wife Antonella Roccuzzo on stage.
A delighted Messi took the opportunity to thank fellow teammates Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba, who were present at the awards ceremony, for the help he received throughout the season and dedicated the Golden Boot to the whole team.
"This trophy belongs to all of us. For me, to by getting it, is a recognition for the whole dressing room," he said.
Messi's 36 league goals made him the leading goalscorer across Europe's top leagues. This year's victory also meant he became the first player to win the Golden Boot three times in a row.
