Tensions between anti-government protesters and security forces rose, as people gathered near parliament building, following the announcement of the formation of a new government after months of deadlock, as footage filmed in Beirut on Tuesday shows.
People were seen trying to dismantle a fence with some throwing projectiles over it and security forces responding with water cannon and tear gas, prompting protesters to move away from the building.
Protests over economic stagnation and corruption have been taking place in Beirut since October 2019.
