Honduras: Tear gas fired as election fraud protest turns violent

Riot police fired tear gas in running battles with protesters over claims of election fraud in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa on Saturday.
Violence erupted on the first day of a national strike called by the Opposition Alliance in protest against alleged electoral fraud in the re-election of the current president Juan Orlando Hernández.
Police fired volleys of tear gas as protesters set tyres on fire. One man could be seen fleeing the violence with his young son.
Several arrests were made by police. Protesters also took place in other parts of the country with one man killed in the city of Tocoa, 400km from the capital.
