SOT, Steffen Seibert, German government spokesperson (German): "It is clear that a lot depends on how the conflict parties in Libya will deal with the decisions made yesterday. It is clear that it is up to them via the 5+5 military commission process to really leave the military logic and enter a political process.''

SOT, Steffen Seibert, German government spokesperson (German): "The important result from yesterday is, that all external actors - let me say it like this - who support and equip sides in Libya, have agreed, that as long as the ceasefire stands they won't perform any further support, no further military deliveries or shippings to Libya.''

SOT, Rainer Breul, German Foreign Ministry spokesperson (German): "What we saw yesterday was self-commitment from the states to respect the embargo. And at the same time commitment from the states - a little further down point 21 [in the agreement] - to continue to strengthen the surveillance mechanism and where it wasn't enough in the past, to modify it.''

SOT, Bjoern Gruenwaelder, German Interior Ministry spokesperson (German): "The case you are referring to, I don't know, I don't know the reports. Regarding the threat level in Germany, I can say that is unchanged in the way it is. Anything else I will have to hand in later. There has been no increase or decrease of the threat level lately. It remains unchanged.''

SOT, Rainer Breul, German Foreign Ministry spokesperson (German): "Now it is important to clarify the cause and the distribution of the infection. From what we know now, a risk of distribution is rather existing for countries that have a lot of tourism with Wuhan province, therefore we don't see ourselves affected.''

SOT, Oliver Ewald, German Health Ministry spokesperson (German): "The danger that comes with such an outbreak is linked to the so far unknown characteristics of the pathogen. Most of the known cases are linked to visiting the local seafood and animal market of the central Chinese city of Wuhan. Up to now, there is no evidence for an easy human-to-human distribution of the virus.''

SOT, Oliver Ewald, German Health Ministry spokesperson (German): "Based on the information we have so far, the Robert Koch Institute considers the health risk for the German population in general to be very low.''

German Government spokesperson Steffen Seibert said a lot depended on how the warring sides in Libya will act on the decisions made at Sunday's peace summit. Seibert was speaking at the weekly Federal Press Conference in Berlin on Monday.
"It is clear that it is up to them via the 5+5 military commission process to really leave the military logic and enter a political process," said Seibert.
He added that an important step was the agreement between all participants not to continue military support for the sides in the Libyan conflict and to strengthen the UN surveillance mechanism for the weapons embargo.
Officials also commented on other recent developments. When asked about a report suggesting a security threat for a US base in Germany, Interior Ministry Spokesperson Bjoern Gruenwaelder said, that the threat level in Germany remained unchanged.
And speaking about an outbreak of an unknown virus in the Wuhan province of China, the spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry said there was no risk for the German population based on the information about the pathogen so far.
