Greece: Athens protesters join refugees to call for open borders

More than 1,500 refugees, migrants and supporters marched through Athens city centre under the motto "open the borders," Wednesday.
Protesters from every age, different nationalities and backgrounds alongside with locals rallied in front of the Greek Parliament and the EU Representation office in Vassilisis Sofia Avenue, while they carried banners like "Human rights and non-discrimination" and "No borders, no nations, stop deportations."
According to latest data from Greek authorities, around 51,000 refugees and migrants are stranded across Greece while more than 28,000 are accommodated in shelters in northern Greece.
