Chinese Hackers Believed Responsible Latest Federal Data Breach

Chinese hackers breached the federal agency that handles security clearances and employee records, government officials said Thursday, accessing the files of approximately 4 million current and former government employees.
The office responsible is currently in the process of notifying people whose records were breached, according to AP.
“The FBI is working with our interagency partners to investigate this matter. We take all potential threats to public and private sector systems seriously, and will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who pose a threat in cyberspace,” the agency said in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
